the creative practices series

April 17, 2009 · 0 comments

Things have been quiet around here. My normal rhythm has been broken up by travels and a few special projects. The irony is, I’ve been sitting on a draft of another post in The Creative Habit series about the importance of rhythm and routine for creative work. I suppose once I sort out my own rhythm and routine, I’ll be able to get back to those thoughts.

Speaking of irony, in the two weeks since I last posted something, the number of subscribers to this blog has jumped to record levels. Not quite sure how to take that.

The paragraphs above began as a brief intro, but clearly became a digression. But I digress. On with my point…

I’m excited to tell you about a new series that is in the works. I am scheduling webcam interviews with creatives in a variety of fields to explore the simple question: “What are your creative practices?” I hope this will be a learning exercise for me, and you, as we hear about what creative work looks like in many different disciplines.

Later this morning, I will record the first interview in the series with my friend Zach Lind of Jimmy Eat World. Assuming all goes well, I will post that video next week. In the meantime, I’d love to hear from you. If you have suggestions or connections for potential interviews, please drop me a line or leave a comment below.
